Finding tasty, filling, healthy snacks is not always an easy chore, especially when you’re in the mood for munching. These are two ways I’ve found that bananas can be a solution.
1. Frozen Banana Slices: Good tasting because they taste like a mini ice cream treat. Good for you because they curb your sweet tooth without adding too many calories. One or two slices are all you need to satisfy a craving and are all you really want to eat because they’re so cold.
- Slice a banana into 1/4 inch or smaller slices.
- Lay out flat on plate or wax paper.
- Sprinkle cinnamon over banana slices (optional).
- Put in freezer and leave at least a couple hours.
2. Bananas and Germ: Good tasting because it mixes crunchy and soft textures. Good for you because the wheat germ is an easy way to add protein and fill you up without going crazy on calories. Here, you can eat the banana as a mid-morning snack to bridge the gap between meals.
- Slice a banana into 1/4 inch or smaller slices.
- Lay out flat on plate.
- Sprinkle crunchy wheat germ over banana slices.
