This month’s book is a well-written, imaginative novel that takes place in Hawaii. It follows a young girl, Rachel Kalama, whose world is overturned when she develops leprosy and is quarantined to a secluded island. Her journey embraces changing realities and dreams, and highlights the life she finds after she thinks her life is over. Should be good!
